Things I loved: Persephone is amazing, truly an independent women with a plan, who knew what she wanted. This is not a starter romance, this is a “I’ve been reading romance for awhile” kind of book. We can chat offline about my sentiments on this. Yes, it is very steamy but I don’t think it is as much as people say…or maybe my tolerance scale is super high. The mythology was light, this is a modern retelling of Hades and Persephone. I’ve been trying to figure out why I loved this book and ranked it higher than some other romances this year and I do not know why other than: the plot was simple and clear, steam + concent was well written, liked the characters and I got my HEA. Greek Mythology is a bit out of my wheelhouse but I was curious about a modern retelling. Meet Neon Gods, if feel like there was a lot of hype about this book even before it was released but I was nervous because of how it was presented to me. What was one of the last books your were heavily influenced by bookstagram to read? Also, the girls in the kept going on about it.
